IMO save your blood, since sooner or later youre going to need it. But yeah, theres two versions, the one without the hood functions the same as the hooded one it seems. That messed up my strategy once and led to a complete wipe, haha. I find them to be kind of a waste of time, since they generally only give you common quality trinkets and occasionally uncommon quality ones. Personally I just took a Hellion, setup camp at some point beforehand and buffed the hell out of her (Battle Trance in particular is pretty great), walked in and ruined the Hags entire family tree with Iron Swan to the face. I assume this is about the wizened hag, and the wizened hag is a squishy wuss with barely any health.

Doing one before the other won't make you any more prepared for your first time fighting a new boss. The Champion (My orignal) died and the other three only just made it out. I ran an Arabalest, Vestal, Houndmaster and Champion (All level 6). My abilities are level 3, Gear level 4, all trinkets custom selected. I Googled up how to beat her and got wrecked again. My thought process is if you're going to party wipe because you didn't know what to expect, you should get it over with ASAP so you don't become too attached to the characters you lose. Cut a long story short: I got wrecked by her the first time. Which is fine, since you're not going to out-heal the Hag's damage output anyway, and you can probably kill the Hag before the Pot puts the healer on death's door if you don't get terribly unlucky. Without spoiling anything both the Hag and the Swine require either a well formed party or an understanding of a specific game mechanic while the Necromancer fight is fairly staight forward and the mechanic becomes obvious before it can screw you over.
